About the Left and American Sniper

There are two good articles up, one referring to the other, that I'll put up brief excerpts to that are clickable as usual.  Please go read both of them.


In a Weekly Standard piece titled, “The ‘American Sniper’ Freakout: Why the Left Can’t Tolerate This Movie,” Mark Hemingway does a fine job of breaking down exactly why the Left either hates “American Sniper” or is dishonestly claiming it is a left-wing movie. It’s a thorough, must-read that perfectly lays out the case. Outside the context of the film itself, there is an additional reason the Left can’t tolerate Eastwood’s masterpiece: every act of apostasy, even one, must be punished.

The Left cannot tolerate dissent. If just one thing sneaks through the institutions the Left is desperate to hold a monopoly on, it is immediately crushed, defamed, mocked, and Frankenstein-villaged until the end of time.

Naturally, the commercial and artistic success of American Sniper—it received six Oscar nominations—has liberal Hollywood deeply conflicted, and pockets of the left outraged. This success can be largely traced to Clint Eastwood’s surefooted direction, as well as Bradley Cooper’s understated and Oscar-worthy performance. But it’s been 13 years since 9/11, and the war on terror has been at the forefront of American culture and politics every day since then. Politics probably explains why it has taken Hollywood this long to make a truly great and popular movie about this war.

Liberal Left Hollywood is smearing Chris Kyle as a Murderer.

"Let’s start with a fact heartbreaking to the Left: Not only is this fact not ignored in the film, it is the WHOLE POINT of the film.

“American Sniper” is not “Selma” — “American Sniper” doesn’t lie.

Here’s a Pond quote where he gets slippery:

But Academy members seem to be paying attention to the criticism that Eastwood and star/producer Bradley Cooper shouldn’t be celebrating a man who wrote that killing hundreds of Iraqis was “fun.”

Note how Pond doesn’t use quotes around the word “Iraqis.” What he’s doing here is turning Kyle’s word “enemy” into the word “Iraqis” as a way to make it seem as though Kyle murdered civilians.

The money quote from the New Republic article is just as deceptive:

But anyone who has read Kyle’s autobiography of the same title knows that his bravado left no room for doubt. For him, the enemy are savages and despicably evil. His only regret is that he didn’t kill more. He laments that there were rules of engagement, or ROE, which he describes as being drafted by lawyers to protect generals from politicians. He argues instead for letting warriors loose to fight wars without their hands tied behind their backs. At another point, he boasts that the unofficial ROE were pretty simple: “If you see anyone from about sixteen to sixty-five and they’re male, shoot ‘em. Kill every male you see.”

This fact about killing every adult male you see is also in the film. Unlike The New Republic, though, Eastwood puts the quote in the correct context. Kyle is talking about no-go zones; areas that were officially evacuated. The legitimate strategy behind this was that only the enemy (evil savage terrorists) would remain in officially evacuated areas.

The lies of omission in this left-wing campaign are bad enough; what’s laughably outrageous is the Left pretending to care about the Iraqi people."

That is why Michael Moore, and many others are spouting the garbage out of their mouths right now.

The idea that a man. A US Serviceman. Can do his job so well, that actual bounty's were put on his head, and that man is Eulogized through a great film which is making hundred of millions of dollars.

They cannot hack that, they can't comprehend that.

All the while, the Great Leftist Film by the greatest Woman, no greatest BLACK Woman in the world, "Selma" hasn't even made back it's cost of production and publicity yet.

The Leftists literally cannot allow this to happen. Therefore to quote Shrek "Bring out your Torch and Pitchforks!". 

They have gone on the attack.  To smear and twist the words from Chris Kyle's book, to make it seem as if he and by association all of our servicemen and women are nothing but ad dog killers who could snap at any moment and start killing and destroying.

That is the underlying message of this smear attack.

How to deal with the brainwashed

And they tell lies and lies and lies.  All to hide the uncomfortable truth that they are "Wrong"  They cannot admit that even to themselves.

Their whole worldview is based on the idea that they are never wrong, they are never mistaken.  Everyone who doesn't agree with their pampered besotted butts is though.

They are the Right and the Righteous, and it is their job, no their "CALLING" to bring their version of enlightenment to the unwilling masses who do not view the world through drug addled rose colored glasses.

Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, Leftists - War on women

I challenge ALL of the stated types referenced in the title of this post to go to XBrad's place and read that post.  And then tell me in the comments what the REAL War on Women is.

You sit here in the United States safe and secure, spouting off about how Men are the root of all the ills of this country, and ignore the HORRORS that are being perpetrated on women half a world away.  And you are silent.

The servicemembers of our armed forces, go over there to try to STOP that.  And you disparage them and call them rapists and murderers.

There is no War on Women here in the United States.  If there was, thousands of YOU would be dead.

So please take your feigned outrage, remove your cranium from your anal sphincter, and instead of hindering our troops and their mission.  HELP.

Greenpeace is pro child death

"Opponents maintain that there are better ways to deal with vitamin A deficiency. In its latest statement, Greenpeace says that golden rice is “neither needed nor necessary,” and calls instead for supplementation and fortification, which are described as “cost-effective.”

To be sure, handing out vitamin pills or adding vitamin A to staple products can make a difference. But it is not a sustainable solution to vitamin A deficiency. And, while it is cost-effective, recent published estimates indicate that golden rice is much more so.

Supplementation programs costs $4,300 for every life they save in India, whereas fortification programs cost about $2,700 for each life saved. Both are great deals. But golden rice would cost just $100 for every life saved from vitamin A deficiency.

Similarly, it is argued that golden rice will not be adopted, because most Asians eschew brown rice. But brown rice is substantially different in taste and spoils easily in hot climates. Moreover, many Asian dishes are already colored yellow with saffron, annatto, achiote, and turmeric. The people, not Greenpeace, should decide whether they will adopt vitamin A-rich rice for themselves and their children."

Where is the Faux Outrage from the left?  Something that is affordable and will save not just lives but the eyesight of countless millions of children, is somehow "Bad".

While these people play their little political and ideological games, children are dying.

That should be the concern.  Not their fweewings about how they are trying to save the world.

I have posted once before about how Democrats project their own lack of self control on every one else, but after searching for 45 minutes I can't find the post in question.

The point I had made was simple.

Democrats and their Leftist supporters can't control their own anger and self hatred, so they think wrongly that EVERYONE must be the same way.

I seriously wonder what a good Psychiatrist would make of some the the rhetoric coming out the mouths of all the Leftists and Democrat Politicians.

Charities aren't going to be there.

He has a point

I've just about given up on Facebook, with their constant changes to the privacy settings, their trying to install a tracking cookie on my computer and other factors.  It has gotten to the point I only use my inexpensive generic chinese tablet to get on facebook these days.  I just don't TRUST their site.

And I don't like how certain pro-rights webpages have been getting flagged by jerk weeds, and Facebook just reacting to those flags, instead of actually being objective about them.

Then you add in what Mr. Blatt posted above, I'm just tired of it all.

THIS is the mentality

of most of the people calling for increased firearms legislation and restrictions.



This is what we have to fight.  The intentional ignorance of people who know THEY'RE right and everyone who disagrees with them is wrong.

The willful self-indulgent narcissism is what is driving the anti-gun debate, coupled with the intentional smearing of the leftists and their media lackeys in an attempt to misdirect the attention of the voters.  Especially the low information voters such as the lady in the video above.

Leftists actually think this way

How is this NOT a war crime

Oh That's Rights.

Obama is a Democrat.

If a Republican had done this, Jane Fonda would be ripping off her top screaming War Crime from the top of the Rotunda in D.C.  CNN, and the rest of the pack would be formulating scathing diatribes about war criminal Republicans.

But it's alright when a democrat does it.

Does the fact that this is INCREASING the insecurity of the area mean ANYTHING to these people?  It's no wonder the Untied States is called the "Great Satan" and when the Republicans next take the Presidency and they have to put in measure to deal with the backlash from these strike they will be vilified by the democrats and their lackeys in the press and on the left.

Arguing with Leftists

I have found from personal experience it very heard to argue with a leftist.  Why?  Because they use what is known as Circular Logic. They derive their beliefs for or against something or someone because it or they already reinforces their own biases and prejudices.  My experience was with a virulent Obama voter who decried because I do not like Obama or his policies I am an apostate heretic and a RACIST!!!!!! 

How can someone defend themselves from that charge?

Nothing you say will exonerate you and in fact will further damn you in their eyes and the eyes of others.  I know of a gentleman who has been branded Racist. 

He is white, or rather he looks white.  His mother is white, his father is black.  His wife is black and their daughter looks as if she is hispanic or mediterranean. 

And yet black people have branded him a racist.  He has been threatened with beatings and death.

Why you ask?  What did he do, you ask?  He did his job.  He is a cop.  Or was I should say.  He died in 1996 from colon cancer. 

Because of the color of his skin he was branded as a racist for doing his job.  The job of enforcing the law and arresting criminals.  The vast majority of which were black.

Even though he looked white, legally he was classified for the Census as Black.

But almost no one could get past the color of his skin.

His parents did, his wife did, I and many other officers working with him did.  If you asked him what his race was he would often say "Human", on a few occasions he would say "I am a child of the rainbow" just to mess with us.  We didn't care.  He did his job, he laughed and joked around with us after shifts.  And once a month he would buy the beer.

And yet many unknowing, uncaring people called him a Racist.

I got called the same thing all the time, I mean after all the only white person in 3 miles is me, so of course I'm harassing you because you're black.  Not that the bottle of booze I just SAW you shove in your jacket has anything to do with why I singled you out for my attention.  It's because you are black and I'm a racist.

Phil got that attitude all the time too.  And it infuriated him that the only thing some people can see was the color of his skin.

That is why you cannot argue with a Leftist.

It doesn't matter what the truth is, it only matter that if you disagree with them you are a racist.

The problem with Higher Education

is the leftist views of the administrations and the majority of the professors.

The Hypocrisy of the left and the media - Burning Man

Remember David Chalian getting fired over saying that Republicans want black people to drown?  Ask yourself this, what about their own supporters party?  Known as Burning Man, it started on Monday and goes to next Monday.  Why aren't those people canceling their event if they are so concerned with what happens with the aftermath of Hurricane Issac?  At least David Chalian got fired for his thoughtless comment, but what about all those other hypocrites who are probably at Burning Man and tweeting their anger about how the Republicans wouldn't end their party in Tampa.  At least the GOP postponed the opening of their convention when it was thought Issac might cause problems for the local emergency responders.  and what about the Left's false Idols?  Ellen Barkin retweeted a desire for the death of hundreds of people at the RNC Convention, while the very real possibility of people Dying in New Orleans didn't seem to bother her at all.  Then Samuel L Jackson had a tweet himself where he wished God would send Issac to tampa to take out the nasty Republicans.   And yet while many of their fans are out on the Playa enjoying a hedonistic adventure, they say nothing about them having to cancel their party.

What you didn't catch was something rather important.  I saw almost no news reports about Burning Man this entire week.  Why?  Because they couldn't point out the obvious disconnect of attempting to hold their Leftist supporters out at the Playa , to the same standard that they hold Nasty Conservatives and Disgusting Republicans to.  That would allow the light to shine in, and they want those curtains tightly closed. If the light got through to expose the truth, well even the Left couldn't ignore their own hypocrisy.

And the hypocrisy is is glaring and obvious to anyone but a lefty.  Anyone who doesn't agree in lockstep is evil and must be humiliated, marginalized and destroyed, for their very existence puts lie to the lefts so called "enlightenment"
